Syawal in Sheffield started off with takbir raya at home. The kumpulan takbir went from house to house (rmh melayu je la) and reached our house at around 1am.
Solat Aidilfitri was held at the Pakistani Muslim Center, Darnall at around 9.30am. We had nasi impit, rendang ayam, kuah kacang, sayur lodeh and lots of other food brought in together by everyone. We were lucky to have Tan Sri Elias Omar, the former KL Mayor, who is here visiting his son, with us.
Then to all the countless open houses.
First stop: Azizi & Yati's. Then, Ezaret's (TS Elias' son). Followed by Mizi & Shereen's. Before we went home for a short break, we visited Rushdi & Ann's which happen to be our closest Malay neighbour. After maghrib we continued with Bob's house (no photo) and then with Ustaz Hasri & Laily's house. As it was almost 11pm, we decided to head home although there were still a few more houses to go. Perut dah sendat and the boys dah penat.
Alhamdulillah for the blessed Aidilfitri. Full of joy & food. Even the weather was very good, sunny with light breeze. Terasa macam kat Malaysia....
